2019 Summary

Overall Attainment for English + Maths

  • Percentage of students achieving grade 4 or better in English and Maths 64.1%
  • Percentage of students achieving grade 5 or better in English and Maths 38.3%

Average attainment 8 score per pupil   45.7

English Baccalaureate (EBacc)

  • Percentage of students achieving the new grade 4 or better in the EBacc 29.7%
  • Percentage of students achieving the new grade 5 or better in the EBacc 23.4%
  • Attainment 8 score for the EBACC was 13.8

Progress 8

Progress 8 for the 2019 cohort was -0.17 (stated as being close to average in the DfE summary)

The class of 2019 featured some outstanding individual performances in terms of attainment and progress.  There are too many highlights to include a full list here.  However, four students worthy of mention feature in the table below:

Joshua Gosling

Joshua attained and amazing set of grade 9s in all nine of the GCSEs he entered.  He is one of only 837 students across the nation to have achieved the full set of 9s when the results were announced in August.

Ellen Lockhart

Ellen achieved a superb set of results, attaining five grade 9s and four grade 8s.

Kate Bolam

Kate posted super results, with four grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7.

Sam Verhulst

Sam attained an excellent set of GCSEs, with five grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 5.
