About Our School

Year 6 Transition Summer School 2021

Our summer school took place for one week between the 9th and 13th of August 2021 for the year 6 students transitioning into year 7 in September. Ninety-nine students from the cohort of one hundred and thirty two attended at least one day. The summer school had several aims, including:

  • Providing year 6 students the opportunity to become familiar with the school before September, an opportunity missed due to COVID
  • To allow students to meet and build relationships with staff and support staff
  • To offer academic and enrichment activities missed due to lockdown
  • To help students to build their confidence and self-esteem
  • To allow students to forge new friendships and improve team working skills

Students took part in activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, orienteering, climbing and archery.

Physical Education

 

Students will take part in a carousel of three different activities in order to try their hand at different sports.
