Curriculum

Welcome to the subject section of Hobart High School.  All students at Hobart follow a core curriculum throughout Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9).  This covers a broad and balanced range of subjects which offers pupils challenge and variety.

The subjects studied at Key Stage 3 are: English, Maths, Science, ICT, RE, PSD, History, Geography, Art, Music, Drama, PE, Technology and one or more Modern Foreign Languages from French, German and Spanish.

Students have the opportunity to specialise in a more focussed group of subjects during Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) following the completion of option choices towards the end of Year 9. Students continue to study a set of compulsory subjects along with those subjects they have opted to follow.

The core compulsory subjects studied during Key Stage 4 are: English, Maths, Science, RE, PSD and PE. In addition, the following option subjects are offered: Triple Science, Food Technology, Design Technology, History, Geography, French, German, Spanish, RE, PE, Business, Art, Music, Media Studies, Drama, Computer Science.
