Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.

GCSE Results Summary 2024

 

The data below summarises provisional key outcomes for Hobart students from the summer 2024 GCSE exams.  It is most meaningful to compare results to 2019, the last summer exam series before the pandemic.

Congratulations to the class of 2024 - we wish you all the best in the future.  Thank you to families for your support, and for the dedication and diligence of staff in helping students to achieve these outcomes, within which there were some outstanding individual success stories.

 

Overall Attainment for English + Maths

  • Percentage of students achieving grade 4 or better in English and Maths 66.4%
  • Percentage of students achieving grade 5 or better in English and Maths 42.9%

 

Progress 8

This figure measures how much progress students make from their KS2 outcomes and their GCSE results across eight subjects, compared to other similar students nationally.

  • Progress 8 score - (provisional DfE figure published December 2024):  +0.19

 

Attainment 8 score per student 

  • Average attainment 8 score per student: 46.1

 

English Baccalaureate (EBacc)

  • Percentage of students entering EBacc:  14.3%
  • English Baccalaureate (EBacc) average point score (APS):  3.97

Student Destinations after Hobart

The most recent destinations data published by the DfE for Hobart students is for those students who left in 2022.  For this cohort, 93% of our students stayed in education or employment for at least two terms after completing key stage 4 which is in line with local and national averages.
